| This is an abstract work in which I played with weaving strips of cloth together. I enjoy both the technique and concept of weaving and have wanted to incorporate it into my quilts for some time. I don't usually do abstracts and found it challenging and stimulating. I created this during a year in which I moved several times and found catharsis in making this expressive piece. Materials and techniques: hand painted and commercial cottons, netting, machine
appliquéd, pieced and quilted. Plastic washers are hand sewn to the work. Hangs from a rod through a sleeve in the back. |
