After a trip during which we toured Mesa Verde,
took the narrow gage railway from Chama, NM and explored Ouray, CO, I had so
many images that I incorporated them into one work. I sliced the images
because somehow that releases energy and helps them to merge into a whole.
The hand prints are a part of petroglyphs from around the world and remind
me of the hands of human kind that touched so many ancient places. They are
my own hand prints and I made the quilt. Techniques and materials: hand dyed
and commercial cottons, netting, machine appliqué, quilted. Hangs from a
rod through a sleeve sewn to the back.
